So, it’s Monday and it’s my first day alone with my baby girl! Tim was able to take a first time parent leave at his work and has been off with us for 6 weeks!!!!! I cannot tell you how awesome it has been. I am so thankful that he has been able to share in the special early moments of Eleanor’s life.
It was really hard for him to leave us this morning. It was hard for me to see him leave! (I have been spoiled with all the help!!!!) Throughout the day I have been sending him cute texts from me, E and Maddie. I know that has helped him. I have also just spent some time praying for him today too.
With husband going back to work today…..I can’t help but think about when I have to go back to work too! I go back part time the first week of July. I know this is what we need to do (and I also look forward to working a few days) but I am dreading this! I’m afraid it is just going to be unbearable to leave peanut. I brought myself to tears this afternoon just thinking about it. ha! I hope I don’t annoy our babysitter too much with all my texts when that time comes!!! :)
So how did today go?
It has been awesome!!!!!!!
Me and peanut did so well! On our first day alone together she was soooo happy! I even managed to lay her in the crib for a nap! We have been trying this and she hasn’t liked it…..but today she napped in there for 30 minutes. And she only woke up because I went in to try to take a picture of her sleeping!!!! hahahaha! Rookie mistake!
I am so looking forward to the rest of the month getting to spend everyday with my girl! It just keeps getting better if that’s even possible!
So, here is to day 1! We did it!
And…..here is a picture of peanut from her 6 week photo shoot!
xo,
Amanda

That's awesome that he had that much time to spend with you guys! What a blessing. I'm so happy that today went great for you and E! That picture of her is just precious!
Going back to work is the worst...it's hard...I'm not going to lie. But after the first week or so you find a groove. She is precious!!
Oh my she is so cute! Try not to think about going back to work yet. Enjoy every second you have home with her :)
Wow! That's great your husband got 6 weeks! Sean only got 1 week leave and used a week's vacation time. I was only able to take 8 weeks because bed rest took up a chunk of my maternity leave, so that means I got back next Wednesday. It is heart breaking to think about leaving her but like you said its best for our family that I too keep working. It will be interesting to see how we both cope with the transition!
I'm so glad he was able to stay home with you all! You two ladies will do just fine ;)
Cute cute cute!! :) :) Love that she is doing so well. Fun stuff!
BEAUTIFUL!
