Excited about grocery shopping!!!!

Yes I said it……

I am excited about grocery shopping!!!!!!!

I went to the new Hyvee in our city and it is ah-mazing!  I was drooling the entire trip.  ha!  It was so clean and pretty!  And the PRODUCE!!!!  I love a good, organized and huge produce department.  Produce was basically all I bought.

Our first trip was a family outing.  Peanut slept the entire time, while husband and I raved about everything and tried all the samples.

We could have possibly called that a mini-date night.

People….they even had a dry cleaner and a dietician inside!  haha!

Hyvee has it all.

Am I really blogging about grocery shopping?

That kind of grocery store makes me wish I had an unlimited food budget cause I wanted to buy everything!!!!

So now our pantry and fridge is stocked and I don’t have to eat peanut butter crackers for breakfast anymore! haha!

Oh and I made guacamole tonight with all that fresh produce!  It was divine.  I put lemon juice in the guac instead of lime juice and it was awesome!  You should definitely try that.  (I stole the idea from the Barefoot Contessa…or Ina Garten, whichever you prefer!)

While on the subject of food….I just now discovered the Pioneer Woman on Food Network!  How am I just now discovering her?  I love that show.  All her food looks so good, homey and relatively simple.

Alright, well if that wasn’t the most random blog post ever.

I’m off to enjoy some angel food cake & fresh berries with my man!  :)

Ahhhh…..the joys of a stocked kitchen.

Summer Wish List

It’s officially summertime!!!!  Even though temps have been summerish for months!  And the best thing is….we have Eleanor to enjoy this summer.

She is now 2 months old!!!!!  How is that possible?

So I have been thinking about all the things I want to do this summer.

Here is my list:

*Make homemade ice cream

*Help peanut sleep in her crib!

*Go on a real date with my hubby!  (first one since Eleanor)

*Take Eleanor to the farmer’s market and get lots of yummy things

*Go to a movie with Eleanor before she is too old and starts making noises in the theatre!

*Grill some kabobs

*Finish peanut’s nursery….finally!

*Loose my 12 lbs of baby weight!!!!!

*Eat pineapple whip!  (funny I listed this under the weight loss goal! ha!)

*Go on a float trip

*Try lots of new recipes

And that’s all I can think of right now!

Finding time to blog is next to impossible these days.  When I do have a chunk of time I have to choose between reading my Bible, eat, nap, clean, laundry, pay bills, pump milk….oh yeah and showering! haha!  My computer fun time is next to nothing.  I do read everyone’s blogs though while I have a sleeping baby on me or while I am feeding her sometimes.  I am keeping up with you!

Finally, here is a presh picture of lil peanut!!!!!

Happy 1 Month Peanut!

Why yes I am weeks behind on Eleanor’s 1 month post!

The short time Eleanor has been with us has been the most amazing time of our lives!  It is scary how fast it has gone by.  She already looks so much bigger and different….which is bittersweet.  I  want her to grow big and healthy, but I will miss these precious times.

At 1 month E weighed about 6 lbs 8 oz!

She is doing amazing at eating now.  After a few breastfeeding struggles due to her being a preemie, we both have the swing of things!  It is going great and I am so thankful I decided to breastfed.   It really is worth the minor struggles in the beginning.

E is our little peanut!  At one month she was in all preemie clothes and newborn diapers.  She could wear a few newborn clothes if they were cut smaller.  I had no idea we would need so many newborn diapers!  Everyone tells you don’t buy any because they will be in size 1 really fast.  But we didn’t know we would have a little peanut!  We have gone through several of the big boxes of diapers!

Eleanor’s Likes:

*Snuggling with mommy & daddy

*Eating

*Tear duct massages (she had a clogged tear duct early on)

*The bouncy seat

*Music

*Skin to skin time with mommy

*Daddy’s songs he makes up for her

Eleanor’s Dislikes:

*The swing (I thought babies were supposed to like that? haha!)

*Being swaddled….sometimes.

*Diaper changes and outfit changes

*Her crib

Sweet Memories:

*Our first outing to a restaurant was to Cracker Barrel at 3 weeks!

*Went to church for the first time on Mother’s Day!!!! Best day ever!

*Had our  first real bath at exactly 1 month!  She didn’t hate it…..

*Daddy & Mommy got the whooping cough shot to be safe!

*Eleanor’s first doctor’s appointment!  She was perfect & healthy.

Our little photo shoot was going fabulously until daddy decided to stick his giant foot in the picture!  haha!  Eleanor wasn’t having it.  He just wanted to remember how tiny she was compared to his foot.  I wonder if he wants to do this comparison every month?

And she was done with pictures!!!!

I will cherish our first month forever!  I am continually crying because I can see her growing before my very eyes.  And I don’t want her to grow up…..but I do.  I can’t wait to experience all the fun stages that are before us.

We love you peanut!

It’s just you and me honey bunch!

So, it’s Monday and it’s my first day alone with my baby girl!  Tim was able to take a first time parent leave at his work and has been off with us for 6 weeks!!!!!  I cannot tell you how awesome it has been.  I am so thankful that he has been able to share in the special early moments of Eleanor’s life.

It was really hard for him to leave us this morning.  It was hard for me to see him leave!  (I have been spoiled with all the help!!!!)  Throughout the day I have been sending him cute texts from me, E and Maddie.  I know that has helped him.  I have also just spent some time praying for him today too.

With husband going back to work today…..I can’t help but think about when I have to go back to work too!  I go back part time the first week of July.  I know this is what we need to do (and I also look forward to working a few days) but I am dreading this!  I’m afraid it is just going to be unbearable to leave peanut.  I brought myself to tears this afternoon just thinking about it.  ha!  I hope I don’t annoy our babysitter too much with all my texts when that time comes!!! :)

So how did today go?

It has been awesome!!!!!!!

Me and peanut did so well!  On our first day alone together she was soooo happy!  I even managed to lay her in the crib for a nap!  We have been trying this and she hasn’t liked it…..but today she napped in there for 30 minutes.  And she only woke up because I went in to try to take a picture of her sleeping!!!! hahahaha!  Rookie mistake!

I am so looking forward to the rest of the month getting to spend everyday with my girl!  It just keeps getting better if that’s even possible!

So, here is to day 1!  We did it!

And…..here is a picture of peanut from her 6 week photo shoot!
